Just A Little Thanks

Every year, we have a holiday to celebrate what we are most thankful for, Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is not just about the turkey or mashed potatoes, it’s about being thankful for what we have. However, every day we should be thankful for what we have, because there are people that have nothing. I have a variety of things to be thankful for, but what I’m most thankful for is my family, friends, and living in a free country.

I am especially thankful for my family. My two brothers, my mom, my dad, and my dog all support me for whatever decision I make. They are always there for me when I need them. I am very fortunate to be able to go every Christmas to Bolivia to see the rest of my family. All of our cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents live in Bolivia, except for two great uncles, who live in the United States. We go every year for Christmas and I have an outstanding time. I couldn’t be more thankful than being able to see my family in Bolivia and having a family that supports me.

My friends are a giant part of my life. They make me smile, laugh, and cry; I adore them so much. They help me with any problems I have, and listen to me when I go on an angry rant for no reason. Whether it’s my soccer friends, my public school friends, or my private school friends; I need them all in my life. They all mean so much to me and hold a special place in my heart. I am extremely thankful to have such amazing friends.

I am very fortunate and thankful to be living in a free country. A country where I can choose what to wear, what sport I want to play, and what school I want to go to. I get to choose what to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In the future, I can decide if I want to go to college and what college I want to go to. I am thankful to be living in a free country and for the men and women who fight with everything they have, including their lives, to help keep this country safe and free.

There are many things to be thankful for. Whether you’re thankful for the new shoes you just got or just for waking up in the morning. Thanksgiving is a holiday for being thankful for what you have, however you can be thankful every day.

  1. Hi Veronica,
A great post and family is definitely the most important thing to be thankful for. I am sorry but something in your settings doesn’t allow the post to be flipped to our magazine. You might need to have your teacher check that on the class blog the settings allow search engines.

    • Miss W,
Thank you so much for checking my post! I will definitely try to change my settings to let you post it on your magazine. I’ll ask my teacher if he can help, and when it’s changed I’ll get back to you.

    • Miss W,
I talked to my teacher and he fixed it. Thank you for checking out my post. Have a great day!
